Decline and Fall has challenged many historians. After Edward Gibbon unscrewed the Roman Empire, David Leeson now unscrews the light bulb:

 

”There is a great deal of debate on this issue. Up until the mid-20th century, the accepted answer was one: and this Whiggish narrative underpinned a number of works that celebrated electrification and the march of progress in light-bulb changing. Beginning in the 1960s, however, social historians increasingly rejected the Great Man school and produced revisionist narratives that stressed the contributions of research assistants and custodial staff. This new consensus was challenged, in turn, by women’s historians, who criticized the social interpretation for marginalizing women, and who argued that light bulbs are actually changed by department secretaries. Since the 1980s, however, postmodernist scholars have deconstructed what they characterize as a repressive hegemonic discourse of light-bulb changing, with its implicit binary opposition between “light” and “darkness,” and its phallogocentric privileging of the bulb over the socket, which they see as colonialist, sexist, and racist. Finally, a new generation of neo-conservative historians have concluded that the light never needed changing in the first place, and have praised political leaders like Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher for bringing back the old bulb. Clearly, much additional research remains to be done.”

El declivi i caiguda sempre ha reptat els historiadors. Després que Edward Gibbon desenrosqués l’Imperi Romà, David Leeson ara desenrosca la bombeta:

 

”Hi ha molt de debat sobre aquest tema. Fins a mitjans del segle vint, la resposta acceptada era la narrativa liberal basada en una sèrie d’obres que celebraven l’electrificació i la marxa del progrés en canviar les bombetes. A partir dels seixanta, però, els historiadors socials rebutjaven creixentment l’escola de l’Home Gran i produiren narratives revisionistes que ressaltaven les contribucions dels ajudants de recerca i serveis de manteniment. Aquest nou consens fou seguidament criticat per les historiadores femenines que rebutgen una interpretació social que margina la dona, argumentant que els bombetes les canviaven efectivament les secretàries departamentals. A més a partir dels vuitanta els pensadors postmodernistes han desconstruit el que ells consideren un discurs hegemònic repressiu sobre com canviar una bombeta, amb la seva oposició implícita entre “llum” i “foscor” i la promoció falocèntrica de la bombeta dins l’andoll que consideren colonialista, sexista i racista. Darrerament una nova generació d’historiadors neoconservadors han arribat a la conclusió que no calia canviar la llum i han elogiat líders polítics com Ronald Reagan i Margaret Thatcher per recuperar l’antiga bombeta. Evidentment cal aprofundir molt en la recerca.”

The opinion polls confirm that Catalonia and Spain are undergoing great changes. In Catalonia the two parties in power since democracy, CiU and PSC, are rapidly falling apart. Everything comes later in Madrid but PSOE and PP are also collapsing.

 

 

 

Catalonia first. Esquerra already overtook the socialists in the Catalan Parliament vote but opinion polls now say that they will also beat CiU, as unimaginable as the thought they would ever overtake the socialists. Catalans want clarity, not the neither fish nor fowl of CiU, unsure whether they want a referendum on independence in 2014, or of PSC, unsure whether they want a referendum at all. The polls show that Esquerra will become the first party in Catalonia with up to 40 seats while CiU continues to fall from their 50 left today to a miserable 35 MPs. The government coalition would win the election with increased representation, but Artur Mas would be forced out of his role as Moses leaving the Catalan government in the hands of Oriol Junqueras who would become the new president leading Catalonia to the promised land. The PSC has lost sight of its pot of gold. The socialists, neither Catalan fish nor Spanish fowl, are starving themselves to death increasingly far removed from power, losing another 20% of MPs and could even come behind the communists! The other party tied to Madrid, PPC, loses even more, up to seven MPs! The party that rules in Spain with an absolute majority would come sixth in Catalonia with less than 10% of the seats in the Catalan Parliament. Spain for a long time has been neither fish nor fowl in Catalonia. Let’s turn now to the opinion polls for Spain. Are they really so different? Spaniards are also not fooled by politicians who lie every time they open their mouths. What is the main problem in Spain? Nationalists and Autonomy Statutes come second to last with 0,1%, or three answers out of 2,482 polled. In contrast the first problem, unemployment obviously, totalled 1,461 answers. Spaniards are well aware that the problem in Spain is the economy, not Catalans. Centralist politicians are fighting tooth and nail against any referendum, but Spaniards see things very differently. They are clearly in favour of democracy, 77%, ten times more than the nostalgics of the dictatorship with 7%. But Spaniards are also quite clear that they have a low-grade democracy. Over half believe that their democracy operates far worse than in the rest of Europe. The success of Media Markt is to tell their clients that they are not fools. Catalans are not fools and Spaniards neither. The vast majority support democracy, although they think it is a weak democracy. The vast majority support the autonomies, except in Madrid. Madrid, not Catalonia, is un-Spanish, in favour of the authoritarianism the rest of Spain rejects. Catalonia and also Spain would be much better off minus Madrid.

Les enquestes confirmen que Catalunya i Espanya es troben en ple canvi. A Catalunya els dos partits de govern des de la democràcia, CiU i PSC, estan en plena descomposició. A Madrid tot arriba més tard però PSOE i PP tambè cauen en picat.

 

 

 

Catalunya primer. Esquerra ja va sobrepassar els socialistes a les eleccions al Parlament, però les enquestes diuen ara que també superarà CiU, cosa impensable, com ho semblava que sobrepassés els socialistes. Els catalans volen les coses clares. Ni carn ni peix, ni CiU que no sap si vol un referèndum el 2014 ni el PSC que no sap si vol un referèndum mai. Les enquestes diuen que Esquerra serà el primer partit de Catalunya amb uns 40 escons mentre CiU segueix baixant, dels 50 que li queden avui a uns miserables 35 diputats. La coalició de govern guanyaria les eleccions, amb un augment de diputats, però Artur Mas hauria d’abandonar el seu paper de Moisès i marxar de la Generalitat on Oriol Junqueras seria el nou president per a dur Catalunya cap a la terra promesa. El PSC ja no lliga gossos amb llonganisses. Els socialistes, que no són ni carn espanyola ni peix català, passen molta gana cada dia més allunyats del poder, perdent un 20% més de diputats i potser quedant per darrera dels comunistes! L’altra partit lligat a Madrid, el PPC, encara perd més, fins a set diputats! El partit  que governa amb majoria absoluta Espanya avui quedaria sisè a Catalunya amb menys del 10% dels diputats al Parlament. Espanya fa temps que no és ni carn ni peix a Catalunya. Mirem les enquestes d’Espanya. Un altre món semblaria, però no, els espanyols tampoc es deixen enganyar pels polítics que menteixen més que parlen. Quin és el principal problema d’Espanya? Els nacionalismes i els Estatuts d’Autonomia surten penúltims, amb el 0,1%, o tres respostes de 2.482 entrevistats. En contrast  el primer problema, l’atur evidentment, rep 1.461 respostes. Els espanyols saben molt bé que el problema d’Espanya és econòmic i no els catalans. Els polítics centralistes lluiten aferrissadament contra els referèndums, però els espanyols ho veuen ben diferent. Diuen molt clarament que estan a favor de la democràcia, un 77%, deu vegades més que els que enyoren la dictadura, un 7%. Però els espanyols també tenen clar que tenim una democràcia de llautó. Més de la meitat creu que la democràcia funciona molt pitjor que a la resta d’Europa. L’èxit de Media Markt és dir als seus clients que no són tontos. Els catalans no són tontos i els espanyols tampoc. La immensa majoria dóna suport a la democràcia, però creu que tenim una mala democràcia. La immensa majoria dóna suport a les autonomies, excepte Madrid. Madrid, no Catalunya, és poc espanyola, a favor de l’autoritarisme que Espanya rebutja. Sense Madrid, Catalunya i Espanya funcionarien molt millor.

The Mail has revealed a secret love affair at Downing Street that is now over. The campaigner against corruption Chris Spivey argues that the signs point to Rebekah Brooks and Dave Cameron:

“Hmmmm. Interesting. I wonder who is having an affair at number 10 Downing Street that has “potentially significant political implications” for Dave? I am of course assuming it is an affair involving someone from number 10 going by the subtle wording used by the Mail: “For legal reasons, The Mail on Sunday cannot disclose the identities of the people involved or any details of the relationship –even its duration– other than that they are middle-aged figures. The affair has now concluded.” The favourites have to be Cameron and Rebekah Brooks. The following is from the Guardian: “Cameron is facing huge embarrassment after details of intimate texts he exchanged with the former News International chief Rebekah Brooks emerged. In one message, Cameron thanks Brooks for letting him ride one of her family’s horses, saying it was “fast, unpredictable and hard to control but fun.” I suppose, there is a chance that he would describe a horse in such a way, but logic dictates that he would have done so at the time and not in a later txt msg. Personally, I have always been of the opinion that “fast, unpredictable and hard to control but fun” is a thinly veiled reference. Therefore, given the fact that the majority of the pairs flirty txt’s have been kept secret, it doesn’t require a great leap of faith to conclude that the pair had a fling. Cameron is facing calls to publish up to 150 secret emails and text messages with Rebekah Brooks after the leak of more embarrassing correspondence with the former newspaper executive. Course, with Brooks being up to her ears in the phone hacking scandal it’s not hard to see how the affair could have “potentially significant political implications for him.” And, in another txt msg that Brooks sent to Cameron she tells the Tory leader that she felt so emotional listening to his conference speech that she “cried twice”, adding: “Will love ‘working together’.” And then there is this one from the Mail: “I am so rooting for you tomorrow and not just as a personal friend but because professionally we’re definitely in this together.”It is certainly strange that Cameron was in full support of the ginger haired old sort before she was forced to resign over the phone hacking scandal. In the week before she resigned as chief executive of News International over the targeting of the missing schoolgirl, the Prime Minister texted Mrs Brooks to tell her to keep her head up and that she would “get through” her difficulties. Days later the Prime Minister sent an emissary to explain to Mrs Brooks that he could not back her publicly because of the political pressure caused by the scandal. And, you would in fact have thought that, having been caught sending flirty txt msg’s to Brook’s, he would have kept his distance. Not according to the Telegraph, he didn’t: “The Prime Minister reportedly had a lengthy conversation with Mrs Brooks during a private gathering held by Tom Astor, who is the great-grandson of Nancy Astor, the US heiress.” He is an old friend and neighbour of Mrs Brooks but has kept his distance since she was charged with conspiring to hack phones, perverting the course of justice and, separately, conspiring to bribe public officials.”

El Mail ha destapat una aventura secreta a Downing Street que ja s’ha acabat. El lluitador contra la corrupció Chris Spivey creu que tot apunta a Rebekah Brooks i Dave Cameron:

“Mmmm. Interessant. Qui pot ser que ha tingut una aventura al N° 10 de Downing Street que té “possiblement importants implicacions polítiques” per a Dave? A mi em queda clar que l’aventura involucra algú del N° 10 fent cas a la redacció insinuant del Mail: “Degut a qüestions legals el Mail on Sunday no pot destapar els noms de la parella implicada ni cap detall de la seva relació –ni tan sols la seva durada– altre que són dues persones de mitjana edat. L’aventura ja s’ha acabat.” Els favorits han de ser Cameron i Rebekah Brooks. Aixó és el que diu el Guardian: “Cameron s’enfronta al gran ridícul després que sortissin detalls dels textos íntims que va intercanviar amb l’excap de News Internacional Rebekah Brooks. En un missatge, Cameron agraeix a Brooks per deixar que munti un dels cavalls de la família, dient que l’euga era “ràpida, imprevisible i difícil de manejar, però divertida.” Suposo que és possible descriure un cavall d’aquesta manera, però la lògica marca que ho fes al moment i no en un txt sms més tard. Personalment, sempre he estat de l’opinió que “ràpida, imprevisible i difícil de manejar, però divertida” és una referència en clau. Per tant, tenint en compte el fet que la majoria dels txt amorosos de la parella es mantenen secrets, no cal un gran salt d’imaginació arribar a la conclusió que han tingut una aventura. Cameron s’enfronta a les crides que publiqui fins a 150 correus electrònics i missatges de text secrets amb Rebekah Brooks després de destapar-se la seva correspondència compromesa amb l’exexecutiva de premsa. Per descomptat, amb Brooks ficada fins a les orelles en l’escàndol d’espionatge telefònic, no costa veure com l’assumpte podria tenir “implicacions polítiques potencialment importants per a ell.” En un altre txt sms que Brooks va enviar a Cameron li diu al líder conservador que ella es va sentir tan emocionada escoltant el seu discurs a la conferència que “va plorar dues vegades,” afegint: “M’encantarà treballar junts.” I després està això del Mail: “Estic apostant fortament per tu demà i no només com amiga personal, sinó perquè professionalment definitivament anem junts en això.” Certament és estrany que Cameron donés ple suport a la coneguda peliroja abans que ella es veiés obligada a dimitir per l’escàndol de les escoltes telefòniques. La setmana abans que ella renunciés com a presidenta executiva de News International per l’explotació d’una estudiant segrestada, el primer ministre va enviar un missatge sms a la senyora Brooks dient que es mantingués ferma perquè “superaria” les seves dificultats. Dies més tard, el primer ministre va enviar un emissari per explicar a la senyora Brooks que no podia recolzar-la públicament degut a la pressió política provocada per l’escàndol. Tots hauríem cregut que, després d’haver estat pescat enviant txt sms amorosos a Brooks, ara mantindria la seva distància. No ha estat així, segons el Telegraph: ” El primer ministre pel que sembla va tenir una llarga conversa amb la senyora Brooks durant una festa privada celebrada per Tom Astor, que és el besnét de Nancy Astor, l’hereva americana.” És un vell amic i veí de la senyora Brooks, però només s’ha distanciat des que ha estat acusada de conspirar per saquejar telèfons, obstruir la justícia i, en un altre cas, conspirar per subornar funcionaris públics.”

While Madrid is busy boycotting and discriminating against Catalonia, the British government sees investment opportunities and recommends investing in Catalonia:

 

“Catalonia has 7.5 million inhabitants -16% of the total Spanish population- and contributes 19% to Spanish GDP. Nearly 14.5 million foreign tourists visited Catalonia last year, and the resident foreign population is over 1 million people, mainly coming from Europe (31%). The region has active regional government policies to promote innovation with 21% of Spanish investment on R&D and 34% of its patents. Last year Catalonia attracted €146 millions from the EU’s 7th Framework Programme, and €529 million since 2007. There is a clear opportunity for UK companies in the biotech sector to either partner with Catalan companies to share portfolio and R&D or to use local distributors to access the opportunities in the region. BioCat (Catalonia’s bioregion) is home to over 350 companies, including some of the strongest in the pharmaceutical sector, both home grown and international. 60% of Spanish pharmaceutical companies are located in Barcelona. There are 9 science and technology parks, 12 universities, 400 research centres carrying out research related to life sciences and over 200 hospitals. Catalonia has 3,349 ICT companies and almost 70% of them are located in the Barcelona area. The high capacity, security and reach of ICT infrastructure available together with the strategic geographic location of the city have helped Barcelona to be nominated as Mobile World Capital until 2018. The Barcelona area also hosts SEPCPhO and ALBA, the new-generation synchrotron radiation facility, making it one of the most strategic locations in Southern Europe for R&D activities. Barcelona is an important centre for creative industries. Strengths in design including textile, industrial design and architecture, and associations such as FAD and BCD, with strategic areas applied, for example, to smart cities. IT based media -including software, television, radio and advertising- also plays a powerful role. Catalonia has a strong industrial base. Sectors like automotive (Nissan and Volkswagen-Seat), textile, construction and industrial metal have a big presence. Catalonia is home, amongst others, to Abertis, the European leader in infrastructure management, and Agbar, multinational company expert in water management solutions and technology. Waste management and Energy sectors are well developed. The headquarters of Fusion for Energy, the EU’s joint undertaking for ITER, are based in Barcelona as well. ITER is the world’s largest scientific partnership that aims to demonstrate fusion as a viable and sustainable source of energy, and it brings together seven parties that represent half of the world’s population –the EU, Russia, Japan, China, India, South Korea and the United States. Barcelona hosts several key international fairs.”

Mentre Madrid segueix obsès en boicotejar i discriminar contra Catalunya, el govern britànic hi veu oportunitats i recomana invertir a Catalunya:

 

“Catalunya té 7,5 milions d’habitants, 16% de la població espanyola, i contribueix el 19% al PNB espanyol. Uns 14,5 milions de turistes estrangers visitaren Catalunya l’any passat, i la població estrangera resident supera el milió de persones, la majoria europea (31%). La regió té una activa política del govern regional per promoure la innovació, amb el 21% de la inversió espanyola en investigació i recerca i el 34% de les seves patents. L’any passat Catalunya va atreure €146 milions del 7é Programa Marc de la UE, sumant €529 milions des de 2007. Les empreses angleses del sector de biotecnologia tenen una clara oportunitat ja sigui de trobar un soci català per a compartir la seva especialitat i investigació i recerca o bé de contractar distribuidors locals per a accedir a les oportunitats de la  regió. Mitjans tipus IT –com programaris, televisió, ràdio i publicitat- també juguen un paper important. Catalunya té una forta base industrial. Sectors com l’automoció (Nissan i Volkswagen-Seat), tèxtil, construcció i metal.lúrgia mantenen una presència molt significativa. Catalunya és la seu entre d’altres d’Abertis, líder europeu en gestió d’infraestructures, i Agbar, la multinacional experta en solucions i tecnologia de gestió d’aigua. ITER és la col.laboració científica més gran del món que vol demostrar la viabilitat i sostenibilitat de la fusió com a font energètica, agrupant set participants que representen la meitat de la població mundial –UE, Rússia, Japó, Xina, India, Corea del Sud i Estats Units. Barcelona acull algunes de les fires internacionals més significatives.”

The former Times Madrid correspondent William Chislett says unemployment is not as dramatic as statistics state. Real youth unemployment is 20%, a number backed by the OECD and Eurostat. Why the confusion that more than half are unemployed? The reason is lumping together with those who study or undergo professional training. Not all young people are looking for work and those registered in a bureaucratic office will almost certainly be studying as well.

 

 

 

“Hispanist Henry Ettinghausen writes to me from La Pera, the navel of the Emporda, that he does not understand anything about unemployment, especially the young. Are really more than half unemployed? Why don’t they start a revolution? Where are the young people on the street all day with nothing to do as the Arabs of Algiers or Cairo? We are used to seeing them bored and without a future. And lately taking the future into their own hands because they have nothing to lose, as in Syria, the last of the despotic dominoes about to fall. What about here? Before the crisis, 57% of young Catalans studied. In 2011, the latest data available, this had grown to 88% of under 25s. The youth response to the crisis has been to increase studies by a third. The same is true in Germany. Their youth unemployment has always been low, hidden for years through professional training courses. 68% of young Berliners studied before the crisis and now it is 65%. So the disparity has switched from 11 points less to 23 points more in Catalonia, which is this third of Catalans that increased their level of education. In contrast in Germany a third of young people work today, the same as before the crisis. Catalans may find no work because of the crisis, but they are improving their education to be able to find work here or abroad. Of course not everything is solved by training. Catalonia has destroyed 7% of jobs while Berlin created 4% more during the crisis. Our problem is not so much mass unemployment, rather too little work. The weakest suffer most: young people, women and over fifty. But there are solutions, says European Commissioner for Employment Laszlo Andor. Spain has a chaotic 33 different contracts. He proposes a single contract. His goal is that before the end of the decade 75% of the population has a job. To put in context Catalonia is now at 62% and Berlin five points more. This means we have to increase the workforce by two points a year. The single contract facilitates recruitment and reduces the black economy, which is a product largely of bureaucratic hurdles. Catalan economics minister Mas Colell in addition proposes turning civil service into normal work contracts, resulting in a more felxible administration. It would be easier to fire, but also easier to recruit. We would have a more just society without the privileges of public officials. A single contract would open up jobs for the young, women and today’s marginalized people. If we can really reduce unemployment by half, that really would be something!”

L’excorresponsal a Madrid del Times William Chislett diu que l’atur no és tan dramàtic com ho pinten les estadístiques. L’atur real dels joves és del 20%, xifra avalada per l’OCDE i Eurostat. A què ve la confusió amb més de la meitat d’aturats? Doncs per la barreja dels que estudien o fan cursos de formació professional. No tots els joves busquen feina i els registrats a una oficina burocràtica, ben segur també estudien.

 

 

 

“L’hispanista Henry Ettinghausen m’escriu des de La Pera al melic de l’Empordà que no entén res sobre l’atur, sobretot dels joves. Realment més de la meitat estan aturats? Com és que no fan una revolució? On són els joves al carrer tot el dia sense res a fer com els àrabs d’Alger o El Caire? Estem habituats a veure’ls avorrits i sense futur. O prenent el futur a les seves mans perquè tampoc tenen res a perdre, com a Síria, el darrer dels dominós despòtics a punt de caure. Què passa a casa nostra? Abans de la crisi el 57% dels joves catalans estudiava. El 2011, la darrera dada disponible, havia crescut al 88% dels menys de 25 anys. La resposta dels joves a la crisi ha estat augmentar en un terç els que estudien. El mateix passa a Alemanya. El seu atur juvenil sempre ha estat més baix perquè quedava amagat des de fa molts anys pels cursos de formació professional. El 68% de berlinesos joves estudiava abans de la crisi i avui el 65%. Així que la desproporció ha passat d’11 punts menys a 23 punts més a Catalunya, que és aquest terç de catalans que ha incrementat el seu nivell d’estudis, mentre a Alemanya només un terç dels joves treballa, ara igual que abans de la crisi. Potser els catalans no treballin tant ara per la crisi, però estan millorant la seva formació per trobar feina aquí o fora. És clar que no tot ho resolt la formació. Catalunya ha destruit un 7% d’ocupació mentre Berlin creava 4% més feina durant la crisi. Patim massa atur o, més ben dit, tenim massa poca feina. Pateixen els més febles, a més dels joves, les dones i els més de 50 anys. Però hi ha solucions, diu el comissari europeu d’ocupació Laszlo Andor. Espanya té un caos de 33 modalitats de contractació. Ell proposa una finestreta única. El seu objectiu és que abans de finalitzar la dècada el 75% de la població activa tingui feina. Per fer-nos la idea a Catalunya avui és el 62% i a Berlin cinc punts més. Vol dir que hem d’augmentar dos punts per any la població activa. El contracte únic facilita la contractació i redueix el treball en negre producte en gran part pels obstacles burocràtics. El conseller d’economia Mas Colell a més proposa convertir els contractes públics en laborals, flexibilitzant l’Administració. Serà més fàcil acomiadar, però també més fàcil contractar. I tindrem una societat més justa sense els privilegis dels funcionaris. Un contracte únic permetrà l’entrada a la feina dels joves, dones i gent gran avui marginats. Si aconseguim reduir l’atur a la meitat, això sí que serà la pera!”

Kennedy carved his own place in history when he stood outside the West Berlin town hall on 26 June 1963 to declare US solidarity with the immortal words: “Ich bin ein Berliner.” His cue card actually read “Ish bin ein Bearleener.”

 

Kennedy’s admiration for Nazi Germany is revealed in John F. Kennedy – Among the Germans. Travel Diaries and Letters 1937-1945. His father Joe P. Kennedy strongly opposed going into battle with Germany and adopted a defeatist, anti-war stance. He tried to arrange a meeting with Hitler without the approval of the Department of State. As US ambassador to Britain he also opposed providing the UK with military and economic aid. He said: “Democracy is finished in England. It may be here in the USA.” The apple does not fall far from the tree. What his son John F. Kennedy wrote:

Hitler’s master race: “The Germans really are too good. Therefore people have ganged up on them to protect themselves. The Nordic races certainly seem to be superior to the Romans.”

Kennedy va marcar el seu propi moment en la història al presentar-se davant l’ajuntament de Berlín occidental el 26 juny 1963 per declarar la solidaritat americana amb les paraules immortals: “Ich bin ein Berliner.” La seva xuleta deia en realitat: “Ish bin ein Bearleener.” Primera foto: John F. L’admiració de Kennedy per l’Alemanya nazi ha quedat al descobert a “John F. Kennedy entre els alemanys. Apunts de viatge i cartes 1937-1945.” El seu pare Joe P. Kennedy es va oposar radicalment a entrar en guerra contra Alemanya i va seguir una línia derrotista i antibèl.lica. Va intentar concertar una entrevista amb Hitler d’espatlles al Departament d’Estat. Com a ambaixador americà a l’Anglaterra també es va oposar a facilitar a la Gran Bretanya ajuda militar i econòmica. Renfe loses millions with the high-speed trains, but cannot cut back on the PP’s neo-centralism. But there are no more subsidies so the old centralism must go, reducing one third of middle distance trains in inner Spain where trains run 80% empty and make a 70% loss.

 

Renfe defines trains that are 79% empty as “efficient.” And trains with 69% losses also are “efficient.” But it is a step in the right direction that Renfe is cutting down services for 127 routes in inner Spain and closing down 48 routes with an average load of 8%. In other words Renfe trains that are 92% empty and have losses of 84%. 15 routes carry less than one thousand passengers a month. Of the 48 to be closed down by Renfe only three exceed 275 passengers per day. The average number of passengers is 33 per day per route, not per station, where many stops have zero passengers per day.

Renfe suprimeix les línies vermelles, però cap al Mediterrani. Madrid perd €21 per passatger en cinc línies que surten de la ciutat. Renfe perd milions amb l’AVE, però no pot retallar el neocentralisme del PP. Així que, per falta de subvencions, retalla el vell centralisme, reduint un terç de la mitjana distància de l’Espanya interior on els trens van més del 80% buits i tenen 70% de pèrdues.

 

Un tren que va només 79% buit Renfe el considera “eficient.” I si només perd el 69% també és “eficient.” Però ja és un pas que redueixi el servei de 127 línies interiors i tanqui 48 línies amb una mitjana d’ocupació del 8%. És a dir els trens de Renfe van el 92% buits i tenen unes pèrdues del 84%. 15 línies duen menys de mil passatgers al mes. De les 48 que tanca Renfe només tres superen els 275 passatgers al dia. La mitjana de passatgers és de 33 al dia per línia, no per estació, on moltes parades tenen zero passatgers al dia.

The PP are obsessed in making Catalonia Spanish because they believe Catalonia cannot be Spanish whenever Spanish is not spoken. The PP are also fighting to eliminate Catalan from Spain. Open the web page for the former PP bank Bankia and you can choose between Catalan and Valencian, as if they were different languages. In contrast there is no option for Madrid Spanish and Andalusian, although the dialect differences are much greater. As part of their anti-Catalan policies the PP has now banned Catalan in Aragon. In fact they have expelled the Catalans in Aragon from the Spanish Constitution by the invention of Lapao. Lapao is the bureaucratic nomenclature for “Lengua aragonesa propia del area oriental” or Language of Aragon Proper for the Area of the Orient.

 

 

 

Spanish nationalist PP have compensated with the add on of Lapa of the PP or “lengua aragonesa propia del area del Pirineo y pre-Pirineo” –Language of Aragon Proper for the Area of the Pyrenees and pre-Pyrenees- formerly known as Aragonese, an official language in Catalonia until the French and Spanish occupation of 1714. Now Aragonese is not even official in Aragon which switched to Spanish and disdains its own language as Lapa of the PP. I know in person two Catalans from Lapao, Marcelli Iglesias, when he was the socialist president of Aragon, and Duran Lleida, the multimillionaire CiU politician –Pujol without his sons as cover so to speak. I never had the least problem speaking Catalan with them, so that the Lapao now imposed by the PP in Aragon sounds suspiciously like and identical to Western Catalan. 60,000 Catalans found themselves forcefully transferred from Catalonia to Aragon in the 19 C when Madrid created the provinces copied from Jacobin France. Almost two centuries later the Western Fringe still speaks Catalan while the PP maintain their policy of elimination of Catalan. The PP minister for unculture Herr Wert should now rename Castilian which has disappeared from Madrid. The Spanish used exclusively in the former capital of the Spanish Empire where the sun has set is nowhere mentioned in the Spanish Constitution. Spanish does not exist in Spain! The Spanish Constitution, that sacred document that forbids Catalans from voting, states that there are four languages in Spain, Castilian and three other Spanish tongues, Catalan, Basque and Galician. Catalan is much Spanish as Castilian according to the Spanish Constitution, Valencian doesn’t exist and even less Lapao! The hated Catalans living in Lapland maybe speak Lapao, but Spain does not speak Spanish. Spanish nationalist PP will find the enthusiastic agreement of the centralist socialists to change the Spanish Constitution to eliminate the Castilian they reject. Following the lisping sound of PP, it should be doubly Spanish to differentiate from second division Catalan, third division Valencian and regional also-ran Lapao. Castilian must be renamed Lepe, “lengua española propia de España” the Language of Spain Properly Spanish. Madrid will then speak Lepe. What a joke! Monolingual Spaniards laugh at the town of Lepe, the only Andalusians hard at work exporting strawberries to all of Europe. Why should they work like Catalans, as if Lepe were not part of Spain! What a change if by speaking Lepe the bureaucrats in Madrid and Saragossa, learn to work  as hard as Catalans in Lapao or Andalusians in Lepe.

El PP està obsessionat en espanyolitzar Catalunya, perquè considera que Catalunya no és espanyola quan no parla castellà. El PP també fa la guerra per  descatalanitzar Espanya. Obriu la pàgina internet de l’exbanc del PP Bankia i podeu escollir entre català i valencià, com si fossin idiomes diferents. En canvi no deixa escollir entre madrileny i andalús, tot i tenir diferències dialectals molt més pronunciades. Dins d’aquesta política anticatalana, el PP ara prohibeix el català a l’Aragó. De fet expulsa els catalans d’Aragó de la Constitució Espanyola inventant-se el lapao. Lapao és el constructe burocràtic de lengua aragonesa propia del area oriental.

 

 

 

L’espanyolista PP afegeix la torna de la Lapa del P y P o lengua aragonesa propia del area del Pirineo y pre-Pirineo. La Lapa del P y P és l’aragonès, que fou oficial també a Catalunya fins l’ocupació militar francesa i castellana de 1714. Avui l’aragonès no és oficial ni a l’Aragó castellanitzat, que menysprea el seu propi idioma com a la Lapa del P y P. Conec personalment dos catalans de Lapao, Marcel.lí Iglèsias, quan era president socialista d’Aragó, i Duran Lleida, el multimilionari polític de CiU –un Pujol sense fills per entendre’ns. Mai he tingut cap problema parlant català amb ells, així que el lapao que acaba d’imposar el PP a l’Aragó sembla molt, però que molt, idèntic al català occidental. 60.000 catalans foren traspassats a la força de Catalunya a l’Aragó al segle XIX quan Madrid creà les províncies copiades de la jacobina França. Uns dos segles després segueixen parlant català a la Franja de Ponent i el PP segueix amb la política d’extinció del català. El ministre d’incultura del PP Herr Wert ha de redenominar el castellà que ha desaparegut de Madrid. Enlloc de la Constitució Espanyola surt l’idioma espanyol que utilitza en exclusiva l’excapital de l’imperi castellà on s’ha post el sol. L’espanyol no existeix a Espanya! La Constitució Espanyola, aquest document sagrat que prohibeix als catalans votar, diu que Espanya té quatre parles, el castellà i tres altres idiomes espanyols, el català, el basc i el gallec. El català és tant espanyol com el castellà segons la Constitució Espanyola, el valencià no existeix i el lapao encara menys! Els polacos de Lapònia potser parlin lapao, però Espanya no parla espanyol. El PP espanyolista trobarà l’acord entusiasta del PSOE centralista per canviar la Constitució Espanyola i liquidar el castellà que no volen. Seguint el quequeig de PP, cal anomenar-lo doblement espanyol per diferenciar-lo de l’espanyol de segona català, de tercera valencià o de regional preferent lapao. El castellà es dirà lepe, lengua española propia de España. Madrid parlarà lepe. Que graciós! Els espanyols monolingues s’enriuen de Lepe, els únics andalusos pencaires que exporten maduixes a tot Europa. Què és d’això de treballar com catalans, com si Lepe no fos Espanya! Déu n’hi do si aconseguim amb el lepe que els buròcrates de Madrid, i de Saragossa, treballin com els catalans de Lapao o els andalusos de Lepe.

Newly discovered notes from a U.S. Army interview of Adolf Hitler’s doctors reveal that he had homosexual tendencies, did not sleep in girlfriend Eva Braun’s bedroom, and was doped up with multiple drugs including female hormones.

Written in erratic shorthand, Army interrogator Hermann Merl, a Vienna-born medical technician enlisted to interview Hitler’s doctors, Karl Brandt and Theodor Morell, scribbled “homosex” in his notebook where he sized up the mass murderer’s sexuality. He then wrote: “Eva Braun = separate rooms” before adding “female hormone – injection 50,000 units.” Elsewhere he wrote: “His sexual life and intercourse with Eva Braun was told to me.” The notebooks are going up for auction later this month at one of America’s leading sellers of historical artifacts, Alexander. Merl’s notes further confirm other post-war interviews with Hitler’s caretakers that he was “hysterical,” a “megalomaniac,” and suffered from several ailments, notably flatulence for which he took drugs to stop passing gas. Merl also suggested that Hitler had Parkinson’s disease. A previous Alexander auction included notes detailing how Hitler was shot up with bull semen. The new notes add that bull semen shots were used to regulate his level of testosterone. But proving that his doctors used many experimental treatments on Hitler was Merl’s mention that the Führer was also receiving female hormones. Those can be used to treat various ailments, but are dangerous and often interfere with male sexual functions. There are five notebooks for sale and the expected sale price is $5,000-$7,000. Dr. Morell was Hitler’s primary physician and a rival of Dr. Brandt, an SS officer who also headed the Nazi euthanasia program.

Notes recentment descobertes de les entrevistes de l’exèrcit americà als metges d’Adolf Hitler revelen que tenia tendències homosexuals, no dormia a l’habitació de la seva amant Eva Braun, i es drogava amb múltiples medicines, incloses hormones femenines.

Escrit en taquigrafia erràtica, l’interrogador de l’exèrcit Hermann Merl, un assistent mèdic nascut a Viena triat per entrevistar els metges d’Hitler Karl Brandt i Theodor Morell, va anotar “homosexual” en el seu quadern de notes quan avaluava la sexualitat de l’assassí en massa. Després afegia: “Eva Braun = habitacions separades” abans de concloure “hormona femenina - injecció de 50.000 unitats.” En un altre lloc deia: “La seva vida sexual i relacions sexuals amb Eva Braun m’han estat explicades.” Les llibretes seran subhastades a finals d’aquest mes per un dels principals venedors d’artefactes històrics d’Amèrica, Alexander. Les notes de Merl confirmen altres entrevistes de postguerra amb els cuidadors d’Hitler de que era un “histèric” i “megalòman” que patia diverses malalties, sobretot flatulència per la qual prenia medicació per frenar els pets. Merl també creia que Hitler patia la malaltia de Parkinson. Una anterior subhasta d’Alexander incorporava llibretes detallant que Hitler s’injectava amb semen de toro. Els quaderns actuals afegeixen que les injeccions de semen de toro eren per a regular el seu nivell de testosterona. Però provant que els metges utilitzaven molts tractaments experimentals sobre Hitler hi ha la menció de Merl de que el Führer també prenia hormones femenines. Aquestes poden usar-se per tractar diverses malalties, però són perilloses i sovint interfereixen amb les funcions sexuals masculines. Hi ha cinc quaderns en venda i el preu de venda esperat és de $5.000-7.000. Dr Morell fou metge de capçalera d’Hitler i rivalitzava amb el Dr Brandt, oficial de les SS que també dirigia el programa d’eutanàsia nazi.
