The Lies of Blocher and Duran/LES MENTIDES DE BLOCHER I DURAN

The Lies of Blocher and Duran

by Josep C. Verges

The Führer Blocher was decisively rejected three times this Autumn by the Swiss democracy. He has now found that stolen data and lies lets him control Swiss institutions without any need for a democratic majority. Below: Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Duran Lleida: the indelible stain of corruption in Catalan democracy.

The governor of the National Bank of Switzerland Philipp Hildebrand has resigned after a dirty campaign orchestrated with stolen data and lies by the authoritarian Swiss People’s Party (SVP-UDC). He endured three weeks and made an excellent press conference on the eve of Epiphany that people thought as more than sufficient. The Swiss PP had accused him of enrichment with insider knowledge of his decision to set a floor of 1.20 francs to the euro this past Summer (Search Exclusive: Rato Tarnutzer Stole Sarasin Account).

In fact he has an American wife and he fixed the rate to the euro, not to the dollar, but corrupt politicians care little for the truth. His wife bought the dollars and the dollar has actually fallen, not risen from the first purchase, so that a loss, not a profit, occurred. Why buy dollars? In early 2011 they sold a chalet and a third was placed in dollars as was their custom with savings in a multinational family. In autumn they bought a new chalet and sold those dollars. According to the international financial rule FIFO, First In First Out, six months had passed between the buying and selling of dollars. Nothing to criticize the inspectors found. The problem arose because, in between, his wife bought dollars a few weeks before setting the floor to the franc. If one considers only this purchase and subsequent sale, there appears to have been a small profit of 70,000 francs which the governor gave to a mountain rescue association. Why has he resigned? He did not think he could continue taking difficult decisions, such as the intervention of the two major Swiss banks, which have already returned their loans, or setting a floor to the franc to prevent the collapse of Swiss industry and tourism. A reminder here that Switzerland has not experienced any crisis, despite the same intervention of banks seen elsewhere. Unemployment is now at 3.3%! But the franc has heavily revalued from its correct rate of 1.40 to the euro. A governor under suspicion can hardly impose a better rate. Hildebrand had planned to set a new floor of 1.30 to the euro, but this will be hard to do now. So far the story of the governor due to the destabilization by the Swiss PP. Since the October general election they suffered a series of disasters with a major rejection by voters, although they remain the first Swiss party. Their latest setback has been to put forward a corrupt candidate to be part of the Swiss government. The Swiss PP in French has the same name, UDC, as the Catalan UDC. Both UDCs are in the hands of Stalinists. Christoph Blocher became a billionaire ransacking companies and speculating on insider information. Duran Lleida is a billionaire without having ever worked. But billions vanished from the ministries he controlled. The two Führers run their UDCs without any respect for democracy and their policies are fixed on their personal whim of the day. Blocher is both for and against a floor to the franc, just like Duran is both for and against a fiscal pact. Corruption is their favourite perfume. Duran boasts that a dozen of his associates have been sentenced to prison, while the government candidate hand-picked by Blocher now faces a criminal trial for fraud in a will. Lies are their daily currency. Duran promised to resign if any associate of his was ever convicted of corruption. Blocher also lies his head off, and the bigger the lie the more he gets his way. He has succesfully guillotined the governor of the National Bank of Switzerland, but he runs the serious risk of indictment for stealing bank data. Of course, like Duran, he has Parliamentary immunity and we have seen that Duran was not even called as a witness in the many trials of his corrupt associates. The lesson is sadly the same in clean Switzerland as in dirty Catalonia. Honest people resign while the corrupt laugh at all of us.
