Pujol’s Slush Fund/ELS FONS RESERVATS DE PUJOL

Pujol’s Slush Fund

French anti-fraud minister Cahuzac resigned after €15 million were found in his Swiss slush fund. Just Pujol’s eldest, Jordi jr, moved more than double this in foreign accounts. Below: Oriol Pujol enters the Catalan Supreme Court to be tried for corruption. Jordi Pujol’s son and political heir has yet to resign from any post.

In Diari de Girona Daniel Bonaventura eulogizes Jordi Pujol because, despite “his dirty business deals” he did not enter politics “to enrich himself.” It’s all the fault of “Madrid” that he is forced to hold a “slush fund, maybe in Switzerland or somewhere else in case he has to run away discretely.” Increible.

Precisely in Diari de Girona I published an open letter to Jordi Pujol (21 November 2012) asking him for a power of attorney to go the Swiss bank and prove that he had no foundation with black money with him and his family as beneficiaries. I never heard from him. Contrast his silence with the French minister in charge of tax fraud, Monsieur Cahuzac, who after heated denials gave permission for Swiss banks to disclose that he had held up to €15 million in black. Apparently these were commissions paid when he was in private ”business.” In the case of Jordi Pujol and his multimillionaire sons, their “business” was Catalan politics. The funds of the Catalan government belong to taxpayers, paid by their taxes and cannot be hidden away in case a politician has to abscond. What a disgrace that the Prince of Wales Oriol Pujol is now on trial for corruption. Pujol and sons have badly betrayed Catalonia!
