Fascism, the Right Thing for Germany/FEIXISME, EL MILLOR PER ALEMANYA

Fascism, the Right Thing for Germany

by John F. Kennedy

Kennedy Hitler

Like his father, the US ambassador to Britain, John F. Kennedy admired Hitler. Even after Hitler’s downfall he wrote: “He was the stuff of legends.” Below: John F. Kennedy carved his own place in history when he stood outside the West Berlin town hall on 26 June 1963 to declare US solidarity with the immortal words: “Ich bin ein Berliner.” His cue card actually read “Ish bin ein Bearleener.”

Kennedy’s admiration for Nazi Germany is revealed in John F. Kennedy – Among the Germans. Travel Diaries and Letters 1937-1945. His father Joe P. Kennedy strongly opposed going into battle with Germany and adopted a defeatist, anti-war stance. He tried to arrange a meeting with Hitler without the approval of the Department of State. As US ambassador to Britain he also opposed providing the UK with military and economic aid. He said: “Democracy is finished in England. It may be here in the USA.” The apple does not fall far from the tree. What his son John F. Kennedy wrote:

Hitler’s Nazism: “Fascism? The right thing for Germany. What are the evils of Fascism compared to Communism?”

Hitler’s master race: “The Germans really are too good. Therefore people have ganged up on them to protect themselves. The Nordic races certainly seem to be superior to the Romans.”

Hitler’s autobahns (actually first built by Bonn mayor and future Bundeskanzler Adenauer, jailed by Hitler): “The autobahns are the best roads in the world.”

Hitler’s Berchtesgaden chalet and tea house on top of the mountain: “Who has visited these two places can easily imagine how Hitler will emerge from the hatred currently surrounding him to emerge in a few years as one of the most important personalities that ever lived.”

Hitler’s personality cult: “Hitler seems to be as popular here as Mussolini in Germany, although propaganda is probably his most powerful weapon.”

Berlin after Hitler’s downfall: “An overwhelming stench of bodies -sweet and nauseating.”

Hitler, the stuff of legends: “His boundless ambition for his country made him a threat to peace in the world, but he had something mysterious about him. He was the stuff of legends.’

Feixisme, el millor per Alemanya

per John F. Kennedy

Berliner

Tal pare, tal fill.
